South Shore 1/2 Marathon

Matt had his first 1/2 Marathon of the year today under some of the worst conditions. It was a crummy day to be outside at all let alone running 13.1 miles. It was only about 36 degrees outside not to mention the rain, strong winds, and flooded course. Nonetheless, Matt was there ready to run and Lilly and I bundled up to cheer him on. We didn't stay outside the whole time. We found a McDonald's Play Place and enjoyed a few hash browns and 2 hot chocolates (both for me). By the time we got back to the course the temperature had dropped even more and you could see it on all the runner's faces. I am so proud of Matt for this huge accomplishment and being so disciplined throughout his training. Next on Matt's agenda is the Paper Discovery Duathlon in Appleton, Wisconsin on May 4th. This event is a 5k run, 22 mile bike, followed by another 5k run.

Matt gets a kiss from his adoring daughter. She is so proud of him!
