Colorado Road Trip

We had a great time this last week visiting my family out in Colorado. After 20 years of living in Wisconsin, my parents along with my two little brothers (20 & 18) moved back to Carbondale, Colorado last year. It was so much fun for me, Matt and Lilly to spend a few days with them.

We left last Wednesday for Rockford to drop Wrigley off with Matt's mom. She was nice enough to put us up for the night and even see us off when we left at 4am. Lilly was so great in the car that we made it all the way to Denver and only had to stop twice. We grabbed some dinner from the 16th Street Mall in Denver and then headed to our hotel for some rest.

We had decided to spend the next day in the Denver area and catch a Rockies game before heading out to my parents house (who live 3 hours west of Denver). It was a gorgeous day so we left the city to do a little hiking at Red Rocks Park.
The Rockies game was a lot of fun. Coors Field was a fun park and close enough from our hotel for us to walk there. It is also Matt's 17th ballpark for those of you keeping track. Lilly's favorite was the toddler park but she did get into the game with Daddy when she was done playing.

On Saturday morning we took a beautiful drive from Denver to Basalt, Colorado to see my littlest brother, Jimi, graduate from high school. I am so proud of him and how well he was done with moving so far away for his senior year.

The rest of the trip was spent having a great time with my family. We only had 3 days left but we packed in so many fun things. My brother, Jonathan was nice enough to make a list.
- Jimi's graduation and his party
- Tossing the Frisbee and finding a hundred dollar bill (Matt)
- Listening to music
- Lilly dancing with Gramma and Uncle Jonnie
- Eating out at Buffalo Valley and Red Rock Diner
- Biking (both on road and off)
- Chasing a bull in the narrow brush on the single track
- Seeing Indiana Jones 4 in the theater
- Lilly having so much fun with Gramma & Granpa!
- Hiking in our backyard
- Playing Portal and Rock Band
- Lilly making us laugh
- Seeing all those animals at Rock Bottom Ranch
- "Washing the dishes" (giving Lilly a bath in the sink)
- and so much more....
