I grew up with four brothers, 2 older and 2 younger, and I always wanted a sister but by the time my youngest brother was born my parents were 42 and ready to be done having kids. As much as I pleaded for a sister they never seemed to be able to make it happen. In fact I still hold a little bit of resentment toward them for not having another girl. :) My poor little brothers had to put up with so much because of it. I forced them to perform dances I had choreographed, dress up in my dresses, experiment with make-up and hair-dos and play with my dolls. Sorry Jonathan and Jimi. Anyway, all this to say I am loving having a little girl to dress up and play with. Tonight was a bit of milestone for me - I french braided Lilly's hair! It wasn't very good and it took me about 20 minutes (or one episode of Thomas the Train) but it's a french braid nonetheless. I still have a long way to go before they look like my Aunt Debbie's braids (she had 4 girls) but I'll keep practicing.

oh man... I can't wait to see her in the morning!
that's REALLY good for your first time! I am impressed!!!!
How cute! These are the things I miss about not having a girl! Brayden won't let me french braid his hair... go figure. =) Next you'll have to try two french braids in her hair!!
Not bad! Way to go, Gretch!
Laugh out loud! How cute she looks even from the back thanks to your braiding talents. I was always happy to have 2 boys. I don't think I could have braided hair nevermind french braiding. I love how wonderful a mother you are, dear Gretchen.
