Lake Winnebago is one of the largest inland lakes in America. You can see it on the map of Wisconsin above - It's the big lake between Green Bay and Milwaukee. This weekend, I competed in a 90 mile bike race around that lake. There were 1,000+ riders in this event so it was pretty crazy the whole ride. I avoided a big accident at around mile 55 - the rider in front of me clipped the tire of the rider in front of him and went end over end just inches away from me. His wheel hit my front tire pretty hard but thankfully, I was able to recover and stay upright. Very scary though! Also, you know how when your driving down the highway and the car in front of you uses the washer fluid and it comes back and hits your car too? Well, on the ride, a guy directly in front of me (remember that we ride just inches apart) pours a bottle of water into his helmet to cool down. When the water (and helmet sweat) hit me directly in the face like a shower nozzel, I said "Serenity Now" and didn't lick my lips for the rest of the ride.
