Wild Card - Green Bay Marathon

Marathon #15... Cellcom Green Bay Marathon

The entrance fee included a pasta dinner at Lambeau Field the night before.  It was really cool to be in the stadium while it was so empty.

We had access to the Lambeau Atrium to stretch and use the restrooms before the race.  It was a relaxing start to a long day.  The weather was beautiful - it was in the mid 50's all morning.

A pretty big event - 7,000+ runners  combined to run the half and the full.

This is to give you an idea of the scenery.  Other than Lambeau, there's not much to look at in Green Bay.  A highlight of the morning was the outdoor praise and worship that several churches were leading along the course.  I really don't like to miss church so it was so inspiring to hear praise songs and reflect on how awesome our God is!

They say that the 20 mile marker is really the halfway point during the marathon.  It takes the same amount of effort to finish the final 6.2 miles as it did to get to the 20 mile marker.  It's called "The Wall" because this is when a lot of runners will either have to stop to walk or stop to drop out.  I was fortunate enough to feel great at the 20 mile mark today... the giant inflatable wall was a nice touch!

The final stretch before entering the stadium.

It was AWESOME to get to run on the same field that Aaron Rodgers dominates and where Brett Favre set the record for most career interceptions.  What an honor!

Pretty, huh?  Less than a 1/2 mile to go at this point.

2nd PR in 2 weeks... I shocked myself and finished in 3:59:11.  A full 11 minutes faster than what I ran in Pittsburgh 2 weeks ago.  I didn't feel great at the start but I set a strong pace and kept it the entire race.  It felt unbelievable to finish in under 4 hours for the first time.
