New Ballpark - Target Field

Eric and I left early Sunday morning to catch the 1pm Twins game in Minneapolis (Yes, we drove back that night).  I have been to the Metrodome but this was my first time at the brand-new Target Field.

It was perfect weather for a game.

They had a Twins Fedora give away for the first 10,000 fans but we didn't get there early enough :(  Eric and I were discussing the easiest way to yank a hat from one of the "early birds" who showed up when the gates open and we agreed that "guy at the urinal" would be the easiest target.  We, of course, didn't act on that.

I love this.  The home and visitor bullpens are right next to each other.  Eric pointed out that if there was a bench clearing brawl, both teams of relievers would run out side-by-side before engaging in the action.  That would be pretty cool.

Target Field was really nice.  It's very clean and easy to get around.  Other than the game, the park didn't offer much for entertainment but the game was so close, who could notice?  Twins beat the Rangers 6-5 and that was with a controversial call at 3rd base to end the Rangers' rally in the 9th.

I hit a career best, 6 different parks this year (Cubs, Brewers, Marlins, A's, Giants and Twins).  I like the Twins and I was happy when they won because it puts them even farther ahead of the Sox in the division standings :)

I love road trips with ya. It was nice to do one with you that didn't involve running 26.2 miles.
