This one was much more difficult than normal. We moved into our new house the day before and that took a bigger toll on me than I thought it would. I went to bed exhausted on Saturday night and was 50/50 for getting up to run 26.2 miles in the morning. My legs and back were really sore and I wasn't sure if I could do it. Well, I obviously went for it...
Here I am at mile 26. This run was really tough. My legs got tired much, much earlier than normal. I was thrilled to get to see Gretchen and the kids every few miles though. I loved stopping with them to give the kids high fives and hugs and to complain to Gretchen about how I should have stayed in bed :)
Finished in 4:26. After I was done, I was soooo glad I did it. Nothing compares to that feeling when you cross the finish line. In October of 2008, I ran my first marathon in Milwaukee. I never would have guessed back then that I'd run Milwaukee again in 2 years and it would be my 17th marathon.
Major Announcement: I'm going to take it easier next year.
