I've owned a Bible for as long as I can remember but until now, I've never read the entire book. I believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. My conviction of the Bible's truth would hold more weight if I'd actually read the whole thing. I've done many studies on individual books and over my life I'd guess that I'd read 60%. I'm not saying that 1st and 2nd Chronicles were super-exciting, but I'm very glad that I've read them.
A new favorite of mine is the prophet Elisha. I'd never read much about him but he has a pretty incredible story. He followed after the prophet Elijah and through God, worked many miracles. (I jokingly described him to Gretchen as "Old Testament Jesus".) His story can be found in 2 Kings. Here's an excerpt from chapter 2:
23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!” 24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys. 25 And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria. Cool, Right? My next time through the Bible (I am doing it again), I'm going to focus on going deeper and taking more notes. I've just started in Mark and I look forward to what God has in store for me.

Congrats. It is a good feeling to know that you've read the Bible from cover to cover. This one is definitely on my next list too.
