99a. Read an Autobiography

The only benefit to being laid up for a week with a mending ankle is that I've had plenty of time to read.  I requested George Bush's book from the library and it was ready just in time for my furlough on the couch. The book is a very good read and provides a lot of insight to how he came to his most important decisions during his presidency.  Some topics that I was most interested in were: 9/11, how he came to his decision to stop drinking, Katrina, Election night in 2000 and the ups and downs that came along with it (remember hanging chads?), his relationship with Christ, being the son of a President, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  I was a Bush "fan" before I read this book but now I really appreciate the incredible job he did for our country amongst so many major challenges.  Plus, every time I saw the extremely thick book sitting on the side table, I felt more like a grown up.
