Staycation

We're just coming off a wonderful week. Matt used some extra vacation days and took off this past week. Our version of the stay-cation was getting as many house projects and things knocked off our to-do list. This is my kind of vacation - especially in my current nesting stage. I'm the kind of person though that when I am sitting on the beach reading or relaxing, I'm thinking to myself "I wish I were doing something productive". I was surprised when Matt suggested this because he is NOT that kind of person. At all. AT. ALL.

Here's a look at one day of our vacation... probably the most fun (at least for the kids, who don't get excited about organization quite like I do).

We started out at the zoo. Matt and Cal took a zoo class together and had a great time. Lilly and I walked around the zoo which was really special for me to spend one-on-one time with her.

After the class we met up to see some animals together.

Matt is such a wonderful father.

The polar bear was swimming which was so fun to watch.

After lunch we stopped by the family farm for ice cream. Apparently Cal doesn't like ice cream so I got to eat two cones!

On the train...

and the carousel.
Then we went home and EVERYONE enjoyed a little nap... which was wonderful. After naps we went to watch Daddy burn down the field start a small bonfire.

Apparently the wood was a little wet. ;)

After some turkey burgers that I grilled (since Matt was afraid to leave the bonfire) we enjoyed some s'mores on the patio.

What a fun day!
