The Fourth of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July. The weather was beautiful and we had great friends to share it with. It was a great way to spend the day!
We started the day by watching the Brookfield Parade with friends from church.

The Buntrock Bunch
The Weis Fam

We had great seats for all the action.

Calvin covered his ears for nearly the entire parade.

Calvin very excited about his pencil.

After the parade we had friends back to our house for a pool party and cookout. The temp ended up getting close to 90 so it was great to have a pool. I think Lilly and her friend Casey stayed in the pool for almost 4 hours. Matt cooked brats, hot dogs and corn for everyone and then we enjoyed a delicious birthday cake for Alyssa.

A hot dog

Ummm... nevermind.
After all our friends left we ended up playing in the pool just the 4 of us till almost 7. Then e got all cleaned up and ready for fireworks. We decided to stay home and see how well we could see the fireworks that the country club by our house set off. We played with sparklers and poppers until they started. The view wasn't great and the mosquitoes were out in full force but it was so fun to spend the night home as a family.
