Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a German Christian pastor who lived during the worst time period of the last several centuries. This book is a very detailed account of his entire life, ministry, and role in attempting to bring down Hitler and the nazi party as a double-agent.
Bonhoeffer led an amazing life and his witness is still relevant today. Even in the face of certain death, He had the courage to stand for what he believed and shepherd others along the way. The last 18 months of his life were spent in a military prison for his role in an attempted assassination of Adolf Hitler. He held a church service for his fellow prisoners in the morning on the day that he was taken away to be executed. His last words to his fellow prisoners as he left were, "This is the end... For me, the beginning of life!"
