A day in the life...

6:59 wake up 1 minute before my alarm. As I head to Hazel's room to feed her Calvin comes out to tell me that he can't find his stuffed horsie. We find it and he goes back to bed. He won't fall back asleep, but it's still pretty dark out and no one else is up so he thinks it's still night time and I don't offer up any info to the contrary.

Hazel is tossing a little so I nurse her so she can fall back asleep and I can go downstairs and work out before everyone is up. By the time I'm done Lilly is up so she gets dressed and comes down to do yoga with me. By the time we finish Calvin has come down to join us as well.

I finish yoga and make the big kids breakfast. Chocolate chip peanut butter bananas. I hear Hazel talking on the monitor. Now for the best part of my day... getting a happy baby out of bed. I love her in the morning. I've missed her and can't wait to hold her again. I love that face.
Change diaper. Get her dressed and pass her off to daddy who has just gotten out of the shower. I shower, get dressed and eat breakfast. Hugs and kisses for daddy as he leaves. Lilly pleads with him every morning not to go.

We are in the car by 10:00 am. I run back into the house three times to get things that I'd forgotten. One the road by 10:10 heading to Hazel's 6 month check up at the pediatrician's. We are early (shocking) so the kids look at the fishes for a bit before we are called.

After the doctor, we run to Target to get some wipes. Thirty minutes later we come out of Target with $50 worth of groceries and clearance clothes but not wipes. I need to start writing things down.

Eat lunch in the car on the way to drop Lilly off at school at 12:30.

Back home. Unload groceries and children and get Cal down for a nap.

Hazel plays with his trains while he sleeps. She loves them.

While Hazel plays I put the groceries away and try to catch up on some emails. Most are pictures from my cousin Casey who's hubby just got home from almost 1 year deployment.
Hazel soon finds me and lets me know she is hungry. I watch the Today Show (on DVR) while she nurses. I love the Today Show (oh... and I hate The Morning Blend... there I said it.)

Is it just me or are our kids getting cuter?

Hazel's nap time and I work on my Beth Moore Bible Study - A Woman's Heart. By the time I finish it's time to get Lilly from school.
When she gets home she watches PBS and has a snack. She is really working hard on learning to read so we pull out her phonics flash cards. Trying to explain English is hard. Today we work on long and short vowel sounds.

While the kids play I finish up some shirts I've been making them.

Lilly writes a letter to Grandma that she started at school for their mail unit.

I listen to a Mark Driscoll podcast while making dinner. Great Mars Hill app if you enjoy his preaching by the way.

Gourmet dinner of grilled cheese and soup that Lilly picked out at Target. Nice shot of Cal trying to fit the entire sandwich in his mouth.

 Hazel enjoying her carrots.

While I work on Hazel's 6 month blog post Lilly comes to me and says "Mommy, you've got to come see this. I made the best train track ever!"And she was right. It was the best train track ever.
Finally get the house picked up and the kids ready for bed. We go up stairs to read books and wait for daddy to come home. The kids scream with excitement as he comes up the stairs. I love it.

Cute! I keep thinking I need to start recording our day to day life better so that I can remember what we did ten years from now. I love the shirts - they turned out great!

Is it OK if I copy this and do a post like this? I think this is such a great idea because I know I won't remember these crazy days years from now. :)
P.S. You are an INCREDIBLE mom!!!

I hope you do Christie! It's a great way to remember what days are like. It's also fun to take pics of things you normally would't. I'd love to read yours. Plus, it answers the infamous SAHM question: "what do you do all day"?
