Our church celebrates veterans and our country every year with an amazing event called Amerifest. It's one of our favorite days of the year.
The kids enjoying the service in the sanctuary. This is before I break down in tears when the veterans come on stage to be honored; plus this year brought out the "ugly cry" because they showed video of soldiers coming home to surprise their families. Like anyone can make it through that.
We had a great time afterwards enjoying the lunch, games, bounce houses and Lilly's favorite - the Rock Wall!
Lilly loved this, which was no surprise to anyone who knows her. She has always been a climber. She made it to the top twice on two different sides. I was really impressed when she scaled the more difficult side.
Cal's turn - "on belay!"
And just like that he was done. That's as far as he got. :)
Time to enjoy our free lunch in the tent. I accidentally had a brat for the first time. I asked the lady twice if it was a hot dog and she said it was. I was almost half way done when a friend showed me her kids hot dogs - not the same. Oh well... I'm better for it. ;)
Moving on to the kids tent...
Our amazing Children's Pastor's wife giving Lucy a tattoo.
Lilly and Cal going through the obstacle course. Lilly was so sweet and waited here for Cal to climb so he could win. ;)
Last Stop: A walk through the car show. Cal pointed out all the cars that he thought were from Radiator Springs. I think we saw Flo, Doc, Sarge and Ramone.
Well done Spring Creek!
