We woke up this morning wanting to continue to take full advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having so we headed over to Fox Brook Park. Matt had a 10 mile run that he had to do for his marathon training so he left the house early and ran all the way to the beach. By the time we got there he was stretching and ready to take a dip to cool off. I'm so proud of how dedicated he has been to his training and for doing so much to stay healthy.
After we had set out our blankets we realized our good friends, Matt & Joy Buntrock and their son Casey (or as Lilly says "Cee-cee") were at the beach as well. It was a lot of fun to spend an unexpected morning with them. Joy is 9 months pregnant and they will be welcoming a new baby into their family this Friday!
Lilly loved the sand and water. Her daddy took her out and showed her all the fish, which she loved. The water was so clear that you could see them really well. I thought this was pretty neat until one of the fish nibbled at my legs. I stayed in the shallow end after that.
After we ate our bag lunches we packed up our things and headed home for a much needed nap for Lilly. She had plans to start the nap as soon as we got in the car. I tried to keep her awake as long as possible and she was fighting hard to stay awake but eventually she gave in. Luckily it was about a block from home so she still enjoyed a nice long nap in her crib.
