Our first few days as a family of four...

It's been quite a week for us. We only stayed in the hospital one night. Calvin was doing fine and I was feeling good so we were able to get discharged on Tuesday evening. It was hard to be there with Lilly and we missed her when she was gone so we were happy to come home. We got home around nine and set up the house for our new little boy. I remember after Lilly was born and all the baby stuff came out how small the house suddenly seemed. Once again we need to find a spot for the pack n' play, the baby swing, burp cloths, diapers, the baby tub, and on and on.

Calvin has been a really great baby so far. He is a great sleeper... at least during the day. I've been up with him the last couple nights from about 3am - 6am but you're not supposed to sleep when you have a newborn anyway, right? Lilly loves having a baby in the house and has been adjusting to everything really well.

Thursday was our toughest day so far. We had Calvin's first appointment at the pediatrician. Everything went well and he was almost back up to his birth weight. After our visit to the doctor we had to make a run to Circuit City. Lilly broke our camera during our stay in the hospital and not having a camera during the first few days of Calvin's life was killing me. So we all ran in there and tried to make an informed decision as Lilly ran up and down the aisles. We made it home in time to throw something together for lunch and get Lilly down for a nap. I thought that our afternoon would be relaxing and that I may even be able to get a nap in. I was wrong. Lilly woke up from her nap about an hour and a half early and threw up everything she had to eat that day. So I spent the afternoon hovering over her with a bucket, disinfecting everything she touched. Meanwhile Matt did about 3 loads of laundry. She wasn't even able to keep water down. Poor girl.

Thankfully she is doing much better this morning. She woke up cheerful and hungry. Calvin had a great night and I was able to get the more sleep than I've gotten all week. I don't know what I would have done if Matt hadn't been home this week though. He has been AMAZING! He's cooked, and cleaned and cared for our babies as well as myself and hasn't complained even a little.

Now we are getting ready for the weekend. I am looking forward to getting out of the house and seeing friends again. Matt has one more long run in his marathon training this weekend before the big race next Sunday (October 5th). Hopefully we will all settle into a routine soon. We just love our new little addition.
