And just 28 days since my last one! I spent the night up in Tomah, WI on Saturday night for the Rails to Trails Marathon. I was there by myself but I made friends quick. At the pasta dinner on Saturday night, I met Mary Beth and Paul, a couple who live 28 blocks away from me in Wauwatosa. This was Paul's 127th marathon. He's done one in every state and 6 out of the 7 continents - including Antarctica! We had a great night discussing races and places and how crazy marathon runners can get. It was nice to have some friendly faces looking for me at the race the next morning.

32. Run 2nd Marathon
The race went well. I took it easy and didn't push myself too hard. My goal was to finish without injury and with enough energy left to get me through the 3 hour drive home. During the run, I met Ross, a Smith Barney exec from Chicago. We ran together for 11 miles and it really helped pass the time. After the race, I had lunch with him, his family, and Paul and Mary Beth. It was fun visiting with fellow marathoners. I was worried I'd feel all alone at this race but I really felt welcome. Paul's even going to do the indoor marathon with me in January!
My cell phone battery died early this morning so I didn't have a phone all day. It was really hard to be in the car for 3 hours without a phone. Luckily I had my ipod... I was jammin out and singing along to Tom Petty and I almost threw up. It was during "Into the Great Wide Open" - not "Free Fallin". I don't sound good on "Free Fallin". Luckily, I got off the road to a gas station and threw up. Don't worry, I made it to the grass.
I'm going to rest for most of this week. Maybe I'll try a 8-10 miler on Saturday. Only 34 days till the next one!

I would have thought you would have gone for the old throw up on your shirt thing you did back in high school. You should have done it that way.
34 days until the next one, you'd better get training!
On your shirt and all over the car seat belt too! Is that the time Eric is referring to? I am very glad you're ok. I do worry about you, but I am very proud of you. Throwing up isn't healthly. Maybe that's what your goal #53 should be: Not throwing up after running!
Oops! Healthy!
I also didn't ask, did you run ahead and set the camera on a timer like you did at Mars Cheese Factory to get that picture?
Yeah... That's the only photo I could find of myself on the race website.
