I went for a 10 mile run at the Pettit Center on Saturday morning. It went really well. I actually enjoyed it for the first time. I think it's helping that there are more and more runners showing up on Saturday mornings due to the cold weather outside. When I got back, I couldn't wait to get going on some granola!
I've wanted to make granola for a long time. It's easy to make and it was fun because Lilly helped. (Gretchen was not allowed to help) Here's the recipe I used. The obvious change I made was substituting chocolate chips for the raisins. Mmmmm. It was really easy to make and it tastes great either by itself or mixed in with some ice cream or vanilla yogurt (my favorite). Lilly and Gretchen really like it too. As long as Gretchen keeps us stocked with vanilla yogurt, I think I may make this more often.

Did you have to store it in an airtight container, or did you eat it all at once? It sounds delicious. Adding chocolate and removing the raisins only makes common sense. What did darling Lilly do to help?
