The decision to use the Wild Card for "painting the picnic table" was an easy one. Gretchen discovered that the table was rotted through when she tried to move it and the bench disintegrated. No biggie... it came for free with the house!
I was fortunate enough to run a marathon down at the University of Illinois over Easter weekend. It was a long day - Eric and I were up at 3 am to make the eventful drive down. I hit a raccoon and 10 minutes later I had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting a deer. Other than that the drive went fine... We both had a great time in Champagne - Eric did the 5k and had a personal best time and I finished the marathon without incident. It also helped that the weather and scenery were great and the fans in Champagne and Urbana were very supportive.
There were over 1,000 runners in the marathon so I was running with people the whole way. Around mile 22, one of the runners (who I'd been running alongside for several miles) asked me, "Is this the way for the full marathon?" I scanned his voice for sarcasm and there was none. I'm convinced he was completely serious. I was too exhausted to come up with something witty like, "No, you're in the 3 hour pace group for the 5k..." So I just said, "Yes". That experience ranks right up there with my best running story to date 2 years ago in my first half-marathon. I was coming up to the first water/gatorade stop about 3 miles into the race when a woman asked one of the volunteers, "Is this free?" Stuff like that will put a smile on your face out there!
What a beautiful day! Here I am at mile 10 or so...

You continue to have the ability to make me laugh out loud! You're riding a bike for awhile now, right? I'm glad you missed the deer! I love you!
