$6 Chair

I've still been thinking about ways that we can bring our master bedroom to life a little bit. I like the black n' white decoupaged dresser but the room needs a little more black n' white to make it work. So while I look for a duvet that my husband will sign off on I'll show you my new favorite seat in the house. Here is how she began - as a sad little chair that sat at the thrift store for over a month waiting for someone to take it home.

Here is the before picture.
I didn't remember to take the picture until after I had started painting. Ooops.

And here is the after. I love how the black paint turned out and that you can still see the wood grain under the paint. I found the fabric at Jo-Ann for $1.75 in the clearance section. Also, in the picture is our $35 craigslist dresser... our first dresser EVER! I've wanted one for years. They are so great for storing clothes!!! Who knew? :)  Anyway, Matt painted the gold hardware black and it turned out great! Now I can go buy more clothes... right?
