I carried the camera around with us today and snapped pictures of everything we did. I know, your probably thinking, "How is that different than any other day?" Well.... I guess it's not, other than I carried the camera in my pocket rather than my purse. :) We had no plans today... nothing to do, nowhere to be, no errands to run... just me and my two little kids.
We played outside for a while. Lilly got to use her new butterfly net, and magnifying glass. It is HILARIOUS to watch her try to catch butterfly's... absolutely hilarious. She loves to explore. So we spend a good amount of time looking at tiny things - flowers, bugs, worms, acorns...etc. We turned over a few logs and found a centipede. YUCK, but we had a good time studying it - counting it's legs and talking about how icky it was.
Later we found ourselves coloring with chalk on the front patio. Lilly drew a centipede.
Oh... also found a fun new baby product. It's just a soft tray from Target but it makes even short trips easier. It attaches to the straps on the carseat and can hold snacks or toys. I threw a few pretzels on there and our ride to the park was a little quieter.
We decided to try a new park today. Hartung Park (on the Menomonee River Parkway just above Burleigh). It's brand new and it was fun to try out. It's got some really neat play things but it's a little unsafe (in my opinion). One of the most surprising things was a slide with no sides that the kids straddle as they slide down. It made me a little tense but Lilly got the hang of it. It's also very close to the parkway with no fence stopping kids from running into the street. We still had a great time and it was definitely worth the trip.
