A new meal - Rainbow Trout

This week, I spent an afternoon fishing out on Lake Michigan with my good friend Nate.  Boy did we haul in some beauties.  We didn't have very comfortable conditions with the 50 degree temp and the 6 foot waves out on the lake (You could see your breath).  Definitely worth it to spend some time with a good buddy and haul in some delicious Rainbow Trout.  I love eating fresh fish and they don't get much fresher than catching them yourself.

Nate was great.  He has all the fishing gear and an awesome setup on the boat for trolling in big lakes.  Here he is cutting the filets.  Don't they look delicious already?

I used a recipe that he gave me with lemon pepper, lemons and tons of butter.  They turned out unbelievable.  I joked with Gretchen that we don't need to go grocery shopping ever again - we can just live off the land (and Nate's boat).

We had rice and green beans with the fish and I was so happy that everybody (even Gretchen!) liked the fish.  I can't wait to get out again.  Thanks for a great time, Nate!
