I know, I know... This is a pretty lame goal - for most people. Michael Phelps' 8 gold medals is impressive. Very impressive. Matt going 48 hours without chocolate is also impressive. Very impressive. Can you compare these 2 feats? I think so. Phelps had to train much longer and harder but if he knew how much I like chocolate, he might say mine is the greater challenge. I went to Atlanta for a 2 day business meeting this week and thought this might be a good opportunity to go without chocolate. I thought it would be easier - I was wrong. Every 2 hours, Satan's demons disguised themselves as hotel employees and wheeled in carts of cookies, brownies, and ice cream (they had fruit too- but still). Even harder was the dinner we ate out as a sales team. We had our choice of anything on the menu including dessert. Normally in these instances, I might order a big slice of chocolate cake and then hope others who can't finish their desserts will offer me their leftovers too. This time, I ate a New York cheesecake and put my head down so I wouldn't be distracted by the majesty of all the chocolate cakes and pies in my presence. I'm so strong. I did it! Maybe 4 years from now, me and Michael will go at these monsters again.
