Weekly Update

Progress to report this week...

Gretchen and I had our first date night without the kids on Thursday. Andy and Mel watched Lilly and Cal so G and I could go see "Fireproof". It was weird being out without the kids but we really enjoyed our time together. The movie was unbelievable! It's a Christian movie that stresses the importance of working through a marriage and both of us were almost crying at times. It was so well done, I'd recommend it to anyone.
On Saturday, It was miserable weather so Josh and I took our 10 mile run indoors to the Petit Center. M O N O T O N O U S... 36 laps = 10 miles. I've got to do around 95 to do the marathon in January. That's going to be so insanely boring. The track was bigger than I had pictured. We did get to see some speed skating time trials and a couple of hockey games while we were running so that kept us (mildly) entertained. On the positive side, the temperature in there's 55 degrees - absolutely perfect for running a marathon.
On Sunday, I had my first game in the Wauwatosa Rec Basketball league. We only had 5 guys and most of us hadn't played at all since last spring so we were really rusty. We got blown out 94-38... C'mon, we only had 5 guys!
Today, I suprised Gretchen with a Hobo wallet. I was excited to get it for her but nervous if she'd like it or not. Either she's a great pretender or she really, really, liked it.

What's a hobo wallet? I hope I get to be the vehicle that allows you and Gretchen to have more date nights without the kids. (Please let me babysit!!!!)

Matt ran down a bum and stole his wallet. That's a hobo wallet.

38 points? I think the other team also only can play with 5 guys too. Or do they do things differently in Wauwatosa?
